Affiliate member Safety 4 HEd promotes its ‘Grab Bag’ to investigate incidents

Grab-Bag

The annual USHA conference is a good opportunity to network, brush up on some skills and get to see another City! As an Affiliate member as well as an exhibitor it is invaluable.

Safety 4 HEd’s Vincent Theobald-Vega attended again this year, our second year of trading.
During this period we provided dedicated health and safety support services for the University sector; training, investigation and advisory services have been used in the North of England, the Midlands and Wales.

The feedback has been excellent, and you don’t need to take my word for it; the quotes are available on the Safety 4 HEd website at www.safety4hed.co.uk

This year we were promoting the idea of having a Grab Bag to hand in preparation to investigate incidents. This common tool is used in many workplaces and one that I have used for many years. Indeed three of the Universities at the conference already use these type of incident response bags.

If you want to try out the idea then e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and request to “Grab a Grab Bag” (please don’t forget to include your name and University postal address) and we will send one to you free of charge (only one per University). If you want more, we can send them to you for a small fee.

Investigation skills are often overlooked when planning the training of School / Department Safety Officers. If you require your departmental staff to undertake investigations, do you train them to do so? If you would like an experienced HSE investigator to train your staff in basic investigation methods, look at what we can deliver for you.

Our Basic course (2 hours) is described at www.safety4hed.co.uk/t-inv.shtml and our one day version (including practical elements) is described at www.safety4hed.co.uk/t-inv.shtml

We can also provide training on a wide variety of other topics, including the full IOSH range of courses so do get in touch.
